Police investigating assault in N. Delta park

Thursday, Jul 15, 2021

July 7, 2021 File 21-15496

Delta Police is investigating after a complaint was made just before 9 pm July 6, regarding a man allegedly assaulted in a park at 81A Ave.  The complainant advised that a man approached three males who apparently were smashing bottles in the park. An altercation occurred, with the man receiving non-life threatening injuries, and the three males fled.

Police conducted extensive patrols in the area, but did not locate the three males. Emergency Health Services attended the scene to treat the injured man. The investigation is ongoing, and police are aware that photos of the three males have been shared on social media.

“We’d like to assure the public that this matter is under investigation,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. “Anyone who knows the identity of these males, or who may have witnessed the incident or events leading up to it, is asked to call 604-946-4411 and quote file 21-15496.”
