FAQ
Q: Why is the Delta Police transferring the non-emergency line to E-Comm?
A: E-Comm already provides emergency call-taking and dispatch services to Delta as well as after-hours non-emergency call taking, so re-assuming full non-emergency service will be a seamless integration. Delta Police will also be returning at a time when E-Comm's non-emergency service levels have been significantly improved and stabilized through investments, including stronger staffing levels, a dedicated team of call takers, and the implementation of new technology to better support the caller experience in the Lower Mainland.
Q: Will callers to non-emergency in Delta notice any differences as a result of this change?
A: Delta callers to non-emergency will have increased options available to them if they are calling during peak hours, from 7 am to 9 pm. During that time, they will be able to take advantage of E-Comm's new interactive software, which will allow them to request a wait time estimate, receive a police file number via SMS text, or ask for a call back.
