Man arrested after theft of a Boom Lift in Tsawwassen
Delta, BC – A male has been arrested following a break-and-enter at a construction site in Southlands, where a heavy boom lift was stolen late Sunday evening.
On September 7th, 2025, at 11:57 pm, Delta Police were called after reports of a boom lift being driven erratically on the streets of Tsawwassen. The vehicle caused property damage and struck street signs as it was recklessly driven through the community.
During the incident, it was reported that the suspect approached local residents to ask for directions to the nearest liquor store before abandoning the boom lift and fleeing on foot into a nearby cornfield.
Delta Police Patrol officers quickly responded, setting up containment in the area. With the assistance of the LMD Police Dog Service and a drone team, officers were able to safely track and arrest the individual without injury to the public. He was arrested for Break and Enter, Theft over $5000, and Mischief and released on an undertaking to appear in court on a future date. DPD officers were also able to safely return the boom lift to the construction site.
“Thanks to the quick thinking of community members who called this in, and the swift response of our frontline officers, this dangerous situation was brought to a safe conclusion,” said S/Sgt. Mike Whiteley, Media Relations Officer.
