Residential Break-Ins in North Delta

Friday, Jan 12, 2024
News Release

In the period spanning from November 15th, 2023, to January 10th, 2024, a North Delta residential community has experienced six residential break and enters. Investigators have identified connections between four of the six files. This same suspect may be responsible for the remaining two break-ins, or these investigations may be connected to a separate suspect.

The affected homes lie east of Centre Street, west of Brooke Road, and are situated between the Fraser River and 84th Avenue.  The suspect(s) targets the homes during daytime/twilight hours.

Points of entry have been through rear glass doors, and the doors have been pried or had the glass broken. The first suspect appears to be a male of South Asian descent estimated to be between 30 and 50 years old and is often wearing a baseball cap and a mask/partial face covering.  A silver or grey mid-sized sedan may be associated.

Police are actively investigating and residents in the targeted neighborhood can expect a heightened police presence, as officers conduct door-to-door visits seeking witnesses or surveillance footage. Collaborating with partners from the Integrated Forensic Identification team and other police agencies with similar cases, we are committed to resolving this crime spree.

Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, such as individuals loitering in parked cars for extended periods, someone canvassing door-to-door appearing to identify unoccupied homes, or the sound of breaking glass. For emergencies, dial 911; for non-emergencies, contact us at (604) 946-4411.

A CCTV video clip can be viewed at this link: https://youtu.be/WeBLZdgIE6Q If you recognize the person in the video or the related photos, please contact the Delta Police between 7am and 7pm at (604)946-4411, via email at [email protected] or to remain anonymous through CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
