File 2023-25779
On November 1st, 2023, at approximately 3pm, 86-year-old David Ho left his Tsawwassen residence for a walk at Diefenbaker Park. David walks regularly and is expected back at the residence usually in about 45 minutes. At approximately 6pm, the Delta Police were notified that David had not returned, and that family members were concerned for him. David has some memory loss.
The Delta Police began searching the area around the residence and Diefenbaker Park but were unable to locate David. South Fraser Search and Rescue were contacted and brought in to assist throughout the night.
Late afternoon on November 2nd, 2023, David was identified on video, walking on Marine Drive in Point Roberts. The video was from shortly after 5pm on November 1st.
As a result of confirming David was in Point Roberts, the Delta Police liaised with Whatcom County to coordinate search efforts on the United States’ side of the border. Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has been coordinating search efforts in Point Roberts since last evening.
While we believe David is likely still in Point Roberts, we cannot confirm that he has remained there. There is a possibility that David has returned to Tsawwassen, as the area is more familiar to him. Efforts to locate David in Delta are continuing as well.
We ask the public to continue to keep a lookout for David on both sides of the border. David is described as 86 years old, 5’9” tall, 150 lbs, possibly wearing a grey baseball hat, grey pants and shoes, and a darker jacket. The jacket is shown in the first photo, while the baseball hat is shown in the second attached photo.
We further ask that the public continue to check their properties in the event David has sought shelter. He may be disoriented, tired and hungry.
Should you locate David, please remain with him, and call 911 to report his location. An officer will be dispatched immediately.
