The Canadian Centre for Child Protection:
Working with Law Enforcement to Raise Awareness Across Canada

On February 7, 2012, Safer Internet Day, countries around the world will be promoting safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially among children and young people.

the door that's not lockedIn Canada, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection has created a unique, one-stop Internet safety website—The Door that's not Locked—which is a 'one-stop shop' for adults interested in learning about ways to keep kids safe on the Internet.


Are you prepared for an emergency?

NEPPDelta Police, in cooperation with the Corporation of Delta and Delta Fire & Emergency Services, is hosting Intro to NEPP—Preparing Yourself and Your Neighbourhood which is a component of the Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program.

Our guest speaker is Dr John Cassidy, Research Scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada, who will be speaking on earthquakes.

This seminar, on February 20, 2012, will help prepare you and your family for a minimum of 72 hours following a disaster and will explore how your neighbourhood can work as a team to respond in the event of a disaster.

2012 Student Police Academy

Student Police AcademyWe are now accepting applications for this summer's eight-day Student Police Academy to be held from July 3-6 and July 9-12, 2012 (weekdays).

This program is a unique opportunity for twenty Grade 11 and 12 students to learn about a career in law enforcement through this challenging learning experience.

Special OlympicsCalling all hockey fans! — Special Olympics Fundraiser

Special OlympicsTo kick off fundraising for the Special Olympics in 2012 we are holding our biggest fundraising initiative for the year by selling tickets to The Giants hockey game to be held on Sunday, 5pm, March 11 at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

Tickets are $16 each, and $5.00 from each ticket sold goes to Special Olympics. Tickets may be purchased at Delta Police headquarters in Ladner, the Public Service Building in North Delta and all CoPS offices. »See locations.

Come and enjoy a hockey game and at the same time you will be making an impact by contributing to sponsoring an athlete. We are so proud of Stacey Kohler, an athlete sponsored by Delta Police and the community, who won Bronze in Track and Field at the 2011 World Summer Games in Athens Greece. »Our involvement with the Special Olympics.
