The Communications Center of the Delta Police Department employs 18 full-time staff in frontline positions at the switchboard (Telephone Operator/Receptionist), front counter call-takers (Public Service Representatives) and Police Dispatchers. We use a wide variety of technology and computer programs in our day-to-day work to help serve the citizens of our community.
There are few positions in the police community that are subject to more continuous scrutiny than that of a communications operator, and a high standard of performance is expected.
This standard of performance results from a devotion to duty, the desire for self-improvement and the determination to perform in a professional and conscientious manner.
