Drugs/Special Projects Section
The Section's primary functions include investigating marihuana grow operations
and street level drug trafficking ("Dial a Dope"). However, in addition
to these duties the Section also provides support to the Major Crime Section and conducts surveillance
on identified targets.
The Unit Members are also involved in providing education and awareness to the public, specifically youth and parents, on the signs of drug use. Members have participated in community Youth Forums and worked with School Liaison Officers to educate and inform the public on the dangers of drugs.
The Unit's goal remains to deploy resources in a comprehensive and directed manner to displace and eliminate drug related problems and work towards Delta being a "Drug Free Community".
